A few years ago, I met a gentleman. He told me its possible to make lots of money online. Specifically, that it was possible to Make Money Online From Fiverr. And Freelancer.com. I think upwork was still a baby by then.

His name must have been Joseph. I’m not very sure. Joseph, if you are reading this, and you know you’re not Joseph, please forgive my memory.

Anyway, I was working in a college by then. As an ICT tutor.

One of my duties was to organize forums through which students could learn about what was happening in the ICT industry out there.

Making Money Online Was ‘Greek’

So, when Joseph approached me, and told me he wanted to educate my students about making money online, I was like “Okay. “

I really didn’t believe that it was possible to make a dime from the internet. As far as I was concerned, internet was all about fun.

But I didn’t object to his talking to my students. After all, it would make me look good in the eyes of my employer.

He would be happy that I was even bringing in even Online Gurus!

I had missed the boat

Friend, I still regret even to this day.

Because I didn’t grab the online opportunity then.

This is why:

On the material day, I just introduced him to his audience. And left him to finish his ranting. My work done.

I just heard him mention freelancer.com as I hurriedly left the hall.

Starting My Online Journey

Fast forward to 2017.

As I was struggling to start my online journey, I remembered Joseph (Or whoever).

And his online jobs stories.

Luckily I got his contacts.

This is the interesting bit:

Happy and smiling from ear to ear, I called him.

I excitedly told him I wanted to learn more about minting bucks online.

“Are you available to teach me?”

His answer?

“That ship sailed my friend. I no longer train because I’m swamped with client work.”

“But do this, open an account on Fiverr and you should be good”

Crestfallen , I hanged up. My smile gone.

But also happy that I had heard something new: FIVERR.

And so today, I will be talking about Fiverr.

What is Fiverr?

Fiverr is a giant marketplace where freelancers (known as sellers) meet clients (known as buyers).

And it is good news for those who hate pitching:

Here, you don’t need to write proposals as per se.

You simply create Gigs (advertisements) for your skills and wait for clients.

Just like a typical market where you display your wares then wait for buyers.

But there’s a catch: Everything starts at $5. Though you can adjust upwards as you climb the levels.

I’m not averse to pitching but I really love the fact that I don’t have to issue proposals to get a gig

So sometimes I wake to messages like this:

Very heartwarming.

Just like that.

Without me doing anything.

Apart from the energy and the time I spent when creating the gigs.

Or better still, you wake up to this:

It’s also great that you can sell any service on Fiverr.

Anything you know. You just need to create a catchy Gig and you will start making good money.

Even Digital marketing. Graphics design. Virtual assistant. Name it.

While every gig should start at $5, there are dudes who make crazy money.

Like those making explainer videos.

Step 1: Register On Fiverr.com

Go to www.Fiverr.com, quickly sign up and complete your profile.

With your email address, you are good to go.

Step 2: Creating Amazing Gigs

In Fiverr, you sell through gigs (advertisements)

And since your Gig will be competing with many others, you need to be creative when creating one.

Here’s a step and step guide on how to create Fiverr gigs.

This is my advice:

Fill in all the fields. Including the tags to boost the chances of your Gig appearing in Fiverr search results.

TIPS TO MAKE STUNNING GIGS

· Be persuasive

Try to be as convincing as much as possible. You are your own marketer so you literally have to blow your trumpet.

But don’t promise what you can’t deliver.

That’s because clients (buyers) will leave a negative review turning away other potential buyers.

So always remain truthful.

Don’t say you can shave an elephant when you don’t even know how to milk an elephant!

On a serious note, don’t say you will create a magical explainer video when you know you can’t.

· Be Smart When Pricing your gigs

Price your gigs intelligently.

Start low. You can start with something like $5 per 500 words.

Then you can increase your prices gradually.

For example, in a few months, you can change this to $25 per 500 words. Then to $50 for 500 words.

And so on.

To hook your first client easily, also quote short delivery times.

· Images and photos help make gig noticeable

Get a good photo to represent your gig from a free photo site such as Pixabay.com, Morguefile.com, Freeimages.com or any other free image websites.

Visuals are always attractive in Online business.

· Videos are magnetic

Fiverr loves videos, if you are in a position to do a video of yourself selling your gig, create one. If not, it’s okay.

But apparently Gigs with promotional videos are a big hit with clients

So its something you can consider in the long run.

· Marketing your gigs

It’s important for you to promote your Gigs.

Since to sell, clients need to notice and visit your Gigs as they are searching for sellers.

Of course, when you are visible, you increase the probability of landing an order.

So, post your Gigs on social media (I’m fond of doing this).

You can also share the link to your gigs on forums such as Quora and reddit, your blog, and any other relevant site to market it.

· Maximize on buyer requests

You can pitch for jobs from clients directly by submitting offers through buyer requests.

However, new sellers may not many requests at first.

However, if you work hard, get orders and always wow your buyers, you will start getting them.

And they can be your ticket to big money.

How much can I make on Fiverr

Note that Fiverr for a starter cannot give consistent income.

I went for months without getting a single order.

But every great thing takes time. So, be patient.

When orders start coming, they rain.

Just ensure that whenever you get a client, you over-deliver so that he can become a repeat client.

Even if it may take many months to stabilize on this site, you should start getting a healthy income eventually.

A Pakistani friend of mine makes roughly $1000- on bad months.

Payments on Fiverr

Make sure you fill your payment information immediately after you get your first pay.

Fiverr accepts paypal, Payoneer and Bank Transfers.

You can register for Payoneer here. And PayPal here.

Click on your username, then “Manage Sales”, then “Revenues” to be able to set up your information.

It takes 14 days on average for payments to clear on Fiverr for newcomers.

And Fiverr deducts 20% from your earnings as service charge.

You also have to withdraw the funds to access them from PayPal, Payoneer, or your Bank.

Master tips

Try to be always online: Downloading the Fiverr app on your smartphone will ensure you remain online.
Make 7 Gigs: You have a chance of creating up to 7 different gigs for a start. Take advantage of this and have the 7 running.

You can have one saying “I will create a wonderful blog post for $5” then another saying “I will create a stunning article in 5 hours”, and yet another “I will write an engaging blog post for $5”…and such.

7 in total.

As we said, if you’re creative, orders should start trickling in.

Edit underperforming gigs: After some time, edit gigs that have the least impressions and zero orders.

Try to make them more irresistible.

After all, your gig is your only pitch to potential clients.

Maximize your buyer requests: That’s when available. Remember to keep checking your account for new requests.

Typically, a client may invite multiple sellers to make requests. So, always strive to be the first to make a custom offer to your prospect

Wow your buyers: I have to repeat this. Always exceed your client’s expectations.

They will easily leave you mind-blowing reviews which in turn bring in more clients.

Respond to messages: And as fast as possible since it impacts on how your prospects of rising through the ranks on Fiverr. Plus your clients may view you negatively if you delay communication.
Promote your Gigs consistently: Set aside sometime every day and promote your existing gigs everywhere. Especially when you’re just starting off.

You can stop as soon as you get enough work

Be professional: Always be courteous and professional with your buyers. It’s one way of enticing them to leave a 5-star review.Importantly, they will be motivated to regularly patronize your gigs.

Observe Deadlines: Never, ever deliver LATE..you could lose big time!

Levels in Fiverr

Just like other platforms, sellers (you) have to rise through the ranks (levels) as you gain experience and increase your earnings.

On-time delivery, great customer satisfaction, and gold-standard service will quickly push you through the levels- and earn you handsome benefits.

Fiverr automatically evaluates your performance on monthly basis to see if you’re qualifying for a promotion.

New seller

For a start, you’re labeled a New Seller.

Here are your benefits:

7 Gigs
2 Gig extras (so you can have 3 prices for a gig- $5, $10, $20)
5 Gig Multiples (Buyer can order your Gig 5 times)
You can Send up to $5,000 as Custom Offers (from buyer requests)
Earning clearance: 14 days

Level One Seller

This is the next stage. You need to meet the following requirements to become a level 1 seller

You must have been active for 60 days as a Seller on Fiverr
You must have Completed a minimum of 10 individual orders in total
You should have earned at least $400
You must be rated at least 4.8 across the 60 days period
You will maintain a 90% Response rate- again over 60 days
You will have completed at least 90% of total Orders over 60 days

You must have been active for 120 days minimum as a Seller on Fiverr
You must have Completed a minimum of 50 individual orders in total
You should have earned at least $2000
You must be rated at least 4.8 across the 60 days period
You will maintain a 90% Response rate- again over 60 days
You will have completed at least 90% of total Orders over 60 days
You will have 90% On-time Deliveries over the 60 days
You should have received no warnings over the past 30 days
